408 Stoker Ford Cleveland Fast Engines Edmonton

Another project by Fast Engines.

For the Ford enthusiast, here is a 408 cubic inch Cleveland for a 1969 mustang. It started out as a 351ci Cleveland Block, that's all that's stock on it now. It is machined to accept an Eagel SVO forged 4340 4.000" stroke crank, Eagle H-beam connecting rods, and CP custom made pistons. There was a little finessing and massaging to fit this precision package together. For reliability and good horse power we chose a Crane hydraulic roller camshaft and aluminum Edelbrock heads (which of coarse we gave a nice tier 3 port and polish job). With roller camshaft and roller rocker arms, we reduced a lot of rotating friction, which frees up horse power, and allows for quicker rpm acceleration. Still wanting to cruise this car on the street and run it on pump gas, compression ratio is at a modest 10.75 to 1, and with aluminum heads we are far away from to much heat and detonation. This project will run a healthy 475 hp and 510 ft/lbs of torque. It will sure roast that rubber!

Port and Polish Fast Engines Edmonton




Recently I did a performance application to my 83 Rabbit GTI (1.8 Litre/ 8 Valve). I bumped the compression to 10.5 to 1 with 1987 1.8 Litre pistons, I also resurfaced the block .025" and resurfaced the head .022 (29 cc). A tier 3 port and polish was also done with big valve conversion. The intake throat was cut at 92 percent of valve size and the exhaust throat was cut to 84 percent of valve size. I blended the bowls with full runner texturize as well as the gasket match.
